The booklet focuses on teaching children who live in Europe and often grow up in bi-cultural families how to pray. Learning the prayers also requires knowledge of the ritual washings that are necessary before performing the prayers. Additionally, the child is encouraged to memorize a few short verses from the Quran. The booklet is illustrated with pictures that demonstrate how the washings and prayers are performed. The texts are presented in Arabic, German, and partly in phonetic transcription to help the child learn the texts effectively. The phonetic transcription allows the child—depending on their age, with or without parental support—to learn the correct pronunciation. The book is suitable for both young and old. This provides parents, regardless of their culture, the opportunity to contribute to their child's learning of prayers.
