The Foundation Handbook is the most well-known and comprehensive German-language compendium in the field of geotechnics. For over 60 years, it has aimed to comprehensively compile and transparently convey developments, new experiences and insights, as well as current and new calculation and verification methods relevant to construction practice. The 8th edition has been thoroughly revised and updated. The third part of the Foundation Handbook addresses foundations and geotechnical structures. The individual contributions cover shallow and deep foundations with their safety verifications, piles, sheet piles, trench walls, excavations, caissons, and supporting structures. Additionally, specialized topics are explored, such as the foundations of structures in mining areas, in open water, and for offshore wind energy installations.
