Product details
After the original edition Weimar 1922. Henni Lehmann (1862-1937) is today primarily known as a co-founder (1919) of the Hiddensee Women Artists' Association. The artist, who came from a wealthy Jewish family in Berlin and was an active social democrat, was driven to suicide by severe illness and the pressure of disenfranchisement by the Nazi regime. On the enchanting Baltic Sea island, Henni Lehmann worked as a painter, writer, and host for artists. It was here that the sonnets and tercets of this slim, nearly lost volume were created, which can now reach poetry lovers again for the first time in nearly 100 years as a new edition.
