In May 2009, the new triple sports hall ETH Sport Center Science City was officially inaugurated on the ETH Hönggerberg campus. This attractive and spacious sports facility, with its versatile usage options, was designed and executed by the architectural team Dietrich Untertrifaller. The flat building is ideally integrated into the landscape and is characterized by exemplary sustainability in its energy management. This sports facility replaces a single sports hall built in 1978, which was designed by architect Albert Heinrich Steiner. The present construction monograph documents the predecessor building as well as the planning, execution, and use of the new facility.
