The grass parakeets of Australia are among the most colorful and lovable parrot species kept and bred in aviaries. Since the export ban imposed by the Australian government in 1960, many breeders have taken on the ambitious task of ensuring that the various species of grass parakeets do not disappear from our aviaries and are systematically bred. This endeavor has been successful. The large and still increasing number of purebred offspring, as well as mutations and color combinations, proves it.
