The textbook implements the competency structure model of the LehrplanPLUS, which has been in effect at Bavarian technical secondary schools (FOS) since the 2017/18 school year. In the 11th grade of the FOS, the focus remains on mechanics, as before. The fundamentals of kinematics, dynamics, and the concept of energy are introduced and modeled with numerous examples from various areas of everyday life. Both natural phenomena and technological developments are examined, and the limitations of modeling possible within the 11th grade are discussed. The unique interplay of theory and experiment in physics runs throughout the textbook, illustrated by numerous experimental examples. Different experimental strategies and modern measurement acquisition systems are described. Competency-oriented tasks with hints and solutions complement the teaching text and guide the students.
