Product details

On January 20, 1914, the leading maritime nations, including Germany, Great Britain, and the USA, signed a treaty in London aimed at protecting human life at sea. The agreement concealed a shared intention to permanently regulate and enhance the safety of the steadily growing international passenger shipping traffic. In his dissertation from 1919, Paul König describes the historical developments of the 19th and early 20th centuries that paved the way for the international legal protection of ship passengers. Building on this, he discusses the individual components and regulations of the treaty and ultimately highlights the gaps in the legal situation of that time. Reprint of the original edition from 1919.
