Product details
China in 1900: The secret society of the Boxers rises against the imperialist threat of foreign powers. Throughout the country, Japanese, Americans, and Europeans are attacked and persecuted. The great powers unite and send tens of thousands of soldiers with the mission to ruthlessly suppress the uprising. The German Navy plays a significant role in the military actions. It gains particular fame through its support of the Seymour Expedition to Beijing and in the battle for the Taku Forts. Two years after the events, the Naval Admiralty Staff publishes a comprehensive account of the Boxer War from the perspective of the German naval forces. It highlights the political developments that led to the escalation of the conflict, as well as the specific military actions in which the imperial marines achieved victory for the great powers.
