Börne and Jeanette Strauss-Wohl (1783-1861) met in 1816 and maintained a lifelong friendship, documented by numerous letters. Jeanette Strauss-Wohl, who never entered into a romantic relationship with Ludwig Börne, significantly supported him in his literary endeavors and managed the publication of his estate after his death.
