Product details

The renowned writer of the so-called Silver Age of Russian literature, Mikhail Alexeyevich Kuzmin (1872-1936), was active as a poet, writer, translator, and even composer. His prose is easy to read but not so easy to understand: it seems strange, unusual, and mysterious. The world of Mikhail Kuzmin reflects the mechanical beauty of the microcosm, which is mirrored in a sphere in the flowerbed. Alexander Eliasberg wrote about him that he was the consummator of Impressionism and consequently the consummator of the classical tradition. This edition includes his following novellas: The Green Nightingale, The Platonic Charlotte, Tomorrow There Will Be Nice Weather, Futile Successes, The Rival, An Adultery, The Sphere in the Flowerbed, The Raid on Barssukowka, The Patterns of Good Tommaso, A Breakdown, A Master in His Field.
