Product details
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe published his arguably best novel in 1809, the title of which alludes to the attractive yet repulsive behavior of chemical compounds. The story revolves around the couple Charlotte and Eduard, who live together in a cozy companionship. However, with the arrival of two additional characters, the seemingly solid relationship between the two proves to be less stable than assumed: the rational Charlotte is drawn to the assertive Captain Otto, while the passionate Eduard is attracted to the young Ottilie - a conflict between reason and passion that inevitably leads to a tragic conclusion.
