Product details
The philosopher and co-founder of modern sociology, Georg Simmel (1858-1918), came from a German-Jewish family that converted to Protestantism and later became non-denominational. Simmel's influence extended far beyond academic circles; his public lectures in Berlin on issues of epistemology, aesthetics, religion, and sociology were extraordinarily popular. Simmel's style, both vivid and precise, also characterizes the two essays in this volume: the text "On the Psychology of Women," published in 1890, and "On the Psychology of Money," which can be understood as a counterpart to his main work "The Philosophy of Money.".
