A New Perspective on the Sound Eurythmy Course

The Sound Eurythmy course, held from June 24 to July 12, 1924, in Dornach, develops the comprehensive significance of this new movement art from the essence of language. With its wealth of wisdom, revelations, information, and techniques, as well as interdisciplinary viewpoints – the audience included not only eurythmists but also teachers, researchers, and representatives from various arts – the course carries a legacy quality. Even today, it serves as a source and research material in the quest for the objective expression of eurythmy. The new edition has been expanded by one third. The stenogram has been thoroughly reviewed, and facsimiles and transcriptions from two notebooks, course programs, reports by Rudolf Steiner, participant drawings, and all 26 wall panel drawings have been included.

"What has already been given has indeed been touched upon repeatedly, yet with powerful strides, Rudolf Steiner led us far, far beyond these initial areas. His spiritual gaze swept across the entire field of eurythmy – many seeds had sprouted, some blossoms had opened – he lovingly took one or another in hand, freeing them from many constraints that had accumulated over time – and then he reached into a breathtaking abundance of new possibilities." Annemarie Dubach-Donath.
