Eusebius of Caesarea (260/64 - 339 or 340) was a late antique Christian theologian and historian. Eusebius is referred to as the father of church history and is counted among the Church Fathers. The author of this book, Franz Joseph von Stein (1832 - 1909), served as the Bishop of Würzburg from 1879 to 1898 and as the Archbishop of Munich and Freising from 1897 to 1909.
