Many social science studies are based on reconstructions of situations or processes. This textbook provides practical knowledge about all phases of such reconstructive studies through two example investigations and presents one data collection and one evaluation method in detail. The interview partners are regarded as experts who possess specific knowledge about the matters to be reconstructed. Qualitative content analysis allows for the systematic extraction of relevant information from the interviews and is also open to unexpected findings. With learning questions at the end of each chapter and a clear structure, the book serves as a practice-oriented introduction.
