Graphite pencils can be sharpened particularly finely and thinly due to their robust and hard leads. Colored pencils, on the other hand, are sharpened shorter and blunter because of their softer leads. To ensure optimal sharpening, we recommend replacing the sharpener from time to time, as the sharpener blade becomes dull over time. This can lead to increased lead breakage.
