Product details
Nicole Alfert analyzes the influence of mediatization processes on social work, taking into account the social network Facebook as both a subject and context of action in child and youth work. She investigates the usage, as well as the challenges and support needs of educational professionals, in an exploratory study. The evaluations show that the observable engagement of professionals and the widespread professional use of Facebook do not correspond to a strategic planning and concept development, relevant informational content, or sufficient resources in professional everyday life. It remains evident that there is a significant need for initial, further, and continuing education, so the results provide important impulses for the current discussion.
