The author of the present volume "Aesthetics of Pure Feeling," Hermann Cohen (1842-1918), was a philosopher and the leading figure of the Marburg School of Neo-Kantianism. He is also regarded as one of the most important representatives of Jewish philosophy in the 20th century. His philosophical main works include both the early writings dedicated to the re-establishment of critical idealism, such as "Kant's Theory of Experience," "Kant's Foundation of Ethics," and "Kant's Foundation of Aesthetics," as well as the writings of an independent system that further develops Kantian philosophy, namely "Logic of Pure Knowledge," "Ethics of Pure Will," and "Aesthetics of Pure Feeling," along with numerous other smaller and larger works.
