Doll kitchens were created in the 17th century, but at that time they were rather decorative objects for adults. It was not until the end of the 18th century that special doll's kitchens for children were developed. The doll's kitchen was originally part of the doll's house. Since this room offered the most play opportunities, doll kitchens were soon built as independent toys. The small kitchens were functional, allowing children to cook and bake.
