Product details
A Rowan steam car is a train composition built according to the Rowan system. The design originates from the Englishman William Robert Rowan, who developed it while serving as the director of the Danish wagon factory Scandia AS in Randers, achieving remarkable success particularly with steam trams. In Sweden, five railway lines served by steam railcars, referred to as Ångspårvägar, were constructed in Skåne. These were railway lines built as economically as possible. Lighter rails were used, and steam railcars according to this system were employed in train operations. In addition to their regular duties, the conductor also acted as the fireman. The railcars could carry several goods or passenger cars. Illustrated with 23 black-and-white images, some on plates. Reprint of the original edition from 1885.
