The author of the present volume "Wild Care," Ernst Ritter von Dombrowski (1862-1917), was a Bohemian hunter and writer. He lived in Blasewitz near Dresden from 1887 to 1891 as the editor-in-chief of "Weidmann" and then served as the court gamekeeper for Prince Reuss of the older line in Greiz from 1891 to 1894. He published numerous books on hunting and related topics. Among other things, he describes winter wildlife losses and their causes, the degeneration of game, and how to prevent it. This is a reprint of the original edition from 1896.
