Particularly for the construction industry as well as machinery and plant engineering, consistent liquidity and receivables management is a central factor in risk management. Tobias Keitel examines the potential use of factoring, which is hardly utilized in project-based companies. Against this backdrop, the author pursues further questions about whether factoring is a suitable instrument within the framework of risk management that meets its requirements, and whether factoring institutions have appropriate offers for project-based companies. The theoretically obtained insights can be substantiated by Keitel in his current empirical study on the state of factoring application in the project business of German companies.
