A young man wanders through the old Federal Republic of Germany. It is the year 1995, and the wall has fallen, but the young man is not interested in that. He drifts from north to south, from Sylt to Lake Constance, and then on to Zurich to visit the grave of Thomas Mann. He is often drunk, and actually feels disgusted most of the time. By the people, the country, the era. He has plenty of money, and style too, but no stability. He claims to understand everything, yet everything slips away from him again.
