When a credit card belonging to Johann Koglerauer, his second illegitimate son, is discovered, the case seems to be closed. However, Inspector Grinninger uncovers many inconsistencies that eventually lead him into the depths of an association of respectable individuals. Suddenly, the village policeman finds himself in a deep swamp of corruption and power struggles. And the killings show no signs of stopping.
