The works of great female artists, their books, their films, their clothes, and self-presentations are well-known and thoroughly researched. But what do their dining preferences reveal about them? This is the starting point of the idea by photographer Marianne Pfeffer Gjengedal and food stylist Klaudia Iga Pérès. Together, the two authors approached women they admire through their favorite dishes. Pfeffer Gjengedal and Pérès recreated these dishes, styled them with great care and attention to detail, and ultimately transformed themselves into their idols. This resulted in 15 refined and sensual portraits of remarkable women that also inspire a desire for many extraordinary recipes. A tribute to women like Jane Austen, Astrid Lindgren, Coco Chanel, Frida Kahlo, Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren, Björk, and their favorite recipes.
