The church wedding is a celebration of faith and folklore: historically developed and now part of a diverse wedding culture. This challenges theology and the church to find communicative ways to engage with love and its various forms of expression. It involves a substantive exploration of what the wedding can mean for Christian religiosity, as well as appropriate forms of liturgical action. Media also play a role, as does the question of an inclusive theory of rites. The book is aimed at both theology students and pastors.
