Clark Ashton Smith (1893-1961) is H. P. Lovecraft's forgotten literary companion from the days of Weird Tales Magazine. His dark fantasy is marked by hallucinatory intensity. Many fans even consider C. A. Smith's work to be more significant than that of H. P. Lovecraft. The collected stories of Clark Ashton Smith are published by Festa Verlag in six volumes (each about 416 pages). They are organized by cycles, with each cycle featuring an introduction by American fantasy expert Will Murray. Additionally, there are further texts about Smith's life and work. Approximately 120 stories are included in new translations, ranging from his earliest writings in 1910 to the last story published during his lifetime in 1958. More than 60 stories are being published in German for the first time.
