A new school year begins in Deepdean, and nothing is the same as before: the new school spokeswoman Elizabeth Hurst and five supervisory students spread fear and terror among the younger girls. But during Bonfire Night, Elizabeth is suddenly found dead on the hockey field. Hazel and Daisy soon realise that this was no accident and that the murder must have been committed by one of the students. Many girls in Deapdeen would have had a motive to hate Elizabeth, but which one is playing a false game here? Could the murder be connected to the many secrets that are revealed on little pieces of paper at school? The detective agency Wells & Wong starts their investigation and has to get rid of many obstacles - not least a quarrel that puts their own friendship to the test ...
