Product details
In his novel "Fink's War," Martin Walser tells the story of the conflict over a job appointment in the Hessian State Chancellery, which actually took place from 1988 to 1994. At the center of the events is the senior ministerial advisor Stefan Fink, who is responsible for the connection to the churches in the State Chancellery. When he is to be transferred due to a political change, an intrigue, he resists and, increasingly isolated over time, engages in a long struggle through many instances that takes on the form of a personal war. The longer he fights this battle, the more he learns that his war is indeed only his war.
