Product details

The chestnut - it brings to mind golden autumn, the leaves with five fingers, and of course the brown, shiny chestnuts that we can craft with so beautifully. Sometimes we pick a few from the rustling leaves and let them disappear into our jacket pockets to play with them in our hands while we walk. The chestnut tree is something special for us. We discover it in numerous parks and gardens, but also as a street tree, where it provides wonderful shade. In our book, we observe the growth of the chestnut over an entire year, how the chestnut germinates and grows, how the older trees unfold their leaves and beautiful flower candles, and how the fruits ripen. It explains the difference between horse chestnuts and sweet chestnuts, and also takes a detour to the oak and beech.
