An autonomous passenger transport system is being designed, powered exclusively by renewable energy vehicles, and simulated within the overall system. The results demonstrate technical, economic, and ecological potentials for cities that can arise from the systematic deployment planning of an electric mass transit system oriented towards individual mobility demand. This presents a method for achieving the goals of the energy transition in transportation. The work presents a systematic analysis of the large-scale integration of electric and autonomously controlled vehicles with the corresponding infrastructure in cities. A framework is formulated that evaluates transport-related, electrotechnical, and economic parameters of the operation of a highly efficient yet comfortable road traffic system based on renewable energies. Simulation results show the potential for replacement.
