Information about the Author
Virginia Woolf, born in 1882, was a significant modernist novelist and the center of the Bloomsbury Group between the World Wars. Between 1925 and 1931, she created her greatest masterpieces, from Mrs. Dalloway to the poetic and highly experimental novel The Waves. She also published an astonishing amount of literary criticism, journalism, and biography, including A Room of One's Own (1929), a passionate feminist essay. She suffered from depression and drowned in the River Ouse in 1941.
