Author Information

Peter Sloterdijk (born 1947) is one of the most renowned and widely read German intellectuals of our time. His 1983 publication "Critique of Cynical Reason" (released in English in 1988) became the best-selling German book on philosophy since World War II. In 2001, he became the president of the State Academy of Fine Arts at the Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe. Since 2002, he has been a co-host of the discussion program "Das Philosophische Quartett" on German television.

Blurb

"Foams" completes Peter Sloterdijk's celebrated Spheres Trilogy: his 2,500-page grand narrative about the history of humanity, told through the anthropological concept of the sphere. For Sloterdijk, life is a matter of form, and in life, the formation of spheres and thinking are two different terms for the same thing.
