When the warm southern wind blows northward, it carries their messages from the valley, where the mountains rise steeply into the sky and where people experienced industrial life as early as the 20th century. Today's women from Glarus share stories from their lives, reflecting on the past and looking to the future. There is the factory worker who supplemented her income with haymaking in the summer on the alpine pastures. Or the cabaret artist from a musical family who made a name for herself with her unique performances. There is also the folklorist and long-time teacher at the Glarus cantonal school, known far and wide simply as "Tanti," the Tibetan woman who has been preserving her culture in the Glarus hinterland for decades, and the Italian nun who lovingly cares for children in need. The women from Glarus present a different side of the Glarus region.
