Home is often only felt when it is no longer present or not yet realized - in a state of being foreign, that is. In this no man's land, art also resides. Under the guiding theme "Foreign Home," the Kunsthalle Mannheim presents a comprehensive exhibition featuring 35 artists from Baden-Württemberg. Various generations and media intertwine, from concepts and sketches to sculptural and installation-based spatial occupations, as well as photography and video, engaging visitors in a dialogue about roots and movement, utopia and sense of place, the existential and the spiritual. The artistic positions are complemented by texts from Wilhelm Genazino, Peter Härtling, Otto Jägersberg, Jagoda Mariniç, Bernhard Schlink, and Theresia Walser.
