Psychopathology becomes an interdisciplinary science by systematically addressing specific psychopathological questions, such as those concerning legal responsibility. Until now, psychiatric phenomenologists have assumed quasi-objective, "pure" mental contents that could only be described, yet must be systematically captured in their boundless diversity. Nevertheless, these have been based on the concepts introduced in forensic dialogue. The epistemological reflection starts from Kant and shows that phenomena are not given ready-made for recognition, but are constructed through language. It is only through the examination of the principles of construction that phenomenology is formalized and psychopathology—along with the crucial control mechanisms determining its practical applicability—becomes systematic. The book takes into account the developments of the last 15 years.
