Nightmares are a common sleep disorder. They affect not only children but often adults as well, and can lead to significant impairments and clinical distress. Chronically occurring nightmares can frequently result in long-lasting psychological stress, self-doubt, and other sleep disorders. Despite this, little is known about the possibility of treating nightmares, and appropriate treatment for this disorder often does not take place.
