Paul Albert Leitner began his Vienna series during a hot summer in 1995 as a result of observations in his immediate surroundings. In a contribution to Camera Austria, he wrote at the time: "Gaze, light, time, and the favorable attitude of a so-called flâneur were necessary." Regarding the good light, an important detail of his compositions, he noted: "The person had the sun at their back." And "The sun had to shine." Referencing Atget in this book, Leitner offers an unknown vision of Vienna along the categories of architectures - city - countryside, architectures - writings, graffiti, facades - magical - melancholic, details, passages, interiors - ambiance / furnishings, art - fashion - monuments, nature, views, still lifes, objets trouvés, various objects, window views, street life, shadows, clouds, clocks, constellations.
