School social work in Switzerland: a dynamic development, a boom - at many schools it has long been a matter of course, while at others it still struggles for recognition. The organizational models, task portfolios, and terminology reflect different paths, often shaped by local peculiarities and constellations in which non-professional actors play an important role. This heterogeneity raises questions: What are the advantages and disadvantages of the absence of approaches to a common theoretical foundation? Will school social work develop its own expertise? Or does it risk being co-opted by other logics? Inspired by practical reports, the editors develop questions that guide the exchange between practice, science, and training, thereby promoting the professionalism of school social work.
