For Jews, Christians, and Muslims, prayer is an essential part of their religions. Public prayers also play an important role in how these religions are perceived by others. It is therefore natural that each of the three monotheistic religions wants to pass on its treasures of prayer to the next generation. Consequently, the main prayers, participation in worship services, and excursions to places of prayer of one's own and other religions are included in school curricula. However, liturgical topics present a pedagogical and didactic challenge in religious education. Today, religious educators must convey sources of prayer and prayer practices to children who have little prior knowledge or experience in this area. This volume offers religious educators a broad exchange of knowledge and experience on this important topic.
