The translation of legal texts poses a significant challenge even for experienced translators, as in addition to linguistic qualifications, a solid understanding of legal principles is essential. For this reason, the book follows an interdisciplinary approach: on one hand, it discusses the fundamentals of various areas of the German legal system, while on the other hand, it offers a rich inventory of translation examples. Important components of the book include exercise sections dedicated to vocabulary and a corpus of errors, which consists of authentic mistakes made by students that the author has collected during her long-standing university teaching career. Special attention is given to promoting the autonomous learning process, enabling students to deepen their legal knowledge in a translation-related context.
