Humor and related words such as laughter, comedy, etc., are among the concepts in human history that have posed significant challenges to poets and thinkers across temporal and spatial boundaries. So far, there are no socioculturally and conceptually suitable criteria that can inter-culturally trace the broad field of humor. This book fills this conceptual gap as a linguistic proposal to neighboring disciplines that deal with differentiated emotional states. It offers fundamental insights and lexical decision-making aids for emotionally successful communication both nationally and internationally, focusing on German and Spanish.
