Media represent a mediating uncertainty without being directly present themselves. Media processes are therefore inconceivable without language, sign, or image processes. In this sense, the present volume introduces media practices and representations of Romanian culture that constitute altered perceptions and experiences and give rise to new forms of individual and collective self-presentation.
