Product details
The book focuses on a previously neglected group: the German minority in Bucharest. Through interviews conducted with members of this group, it examines their current and historical situation. In Bucharest, one finds a diverse German community with various migration backgrounds. Although they live in the capital, the interviews often lead back to the villages and small towns of Romania, to a vibrant community life, and to the past. This phenomenon serves as a starting point for reflections on the migration backgrounds of the interviewees, their identity, their memories, their perceptions of others and themselves, as well as the method of oral history.
