Three equally mysterious and spectacular suicides of older Jewish citizens pose a puzzle for the Frankfurt homicide squad. The young chief inspector Gregor Mandelbaum is assigned to the investigation due to his Jewish heritage. Suffering from a mild form of autism but highly intelligent, the investigator quickly recognizes the signature of a serial killer. However, a motive for the crimes is still far from him and his team—almost an entire lifetime.
