Product details
When women put on lace-up boots and took off their corsets to go into the city or nature, they experienced freedom, adventure, and self-determination. Even a simple walk was considered improper; strolling alone on the boulevards of the city would have been unthinkable, and hiking without company was beyond any reasonable imagination. Women were expected to be at home and stay there, but in the 19th century, fewer and fewer of them wanted that. A desire had awakened in women to walk alone across meadows, stroll along the sea, hike in the mountains, and promenade in the cities. The story of the woman who walks is not only linked to her liberation from rigid conventions but also coincides with the discovery of a new sense of nature and body. On their own feet into a new independence!.
