140 years ago, Amalie Struve, one of the most well-known female participants in the Baden Revolution of 1848/49, passed away. Alongside her husband Gustav Struve, she actively participated in the Baden Revolution. Beyond her memories of the Baden freedom struggles, which were published in Hamburg in 1850, she also worked as a writer in American exile. In numerous articles, Amalie Struve passionately and actively expressed her views, particularly on women's issues. She advocated for better education for young girls, for the economic and professional independence of women, for equal rights, including voting rights, for both women and men, and portrayed outstanding women from both the past and present. All of these texts written in the USA have never been published in book form in Germany.
