This book is not a tell-all, as there is nothing more to reveal, even though what is known is only known to a few – this applies even to Masonic circles. The book aims to demythologize, demystify, and educate: to inform about an association of righteous, honest people, their beliefs and goals; about people who, while discreet, are averse to any kind of shadowy dealings. Speculations about the origins of this association are discussed, critically examined, and possibly placed in a meaningful context. The text includes commentary that explains terms from ancient and medieval philosophy as needed. The book is not anti-religious or anti-church, but it is also not uncritical; this applies to Freemasonry as well. It has been written by a Freemason for Freemasons and those interested.
