Michael Birnthaler examines the characteristics and possibilities of experiential education in connection with anthroposophical pedagogy. He provides suggestions on how experiential educational elements can be implemented in Waldorf schools. The training of sensory perception and the sensitization of awareness have always been important concerns of Waldorf education. Nevertheless, the Waldorf movement has not yet explicitly engaged with the phenomenon of experiential education. This is all the more remarkable, as enlightening insights about experiential education, its potentials, and its challenges can be derived from anthroposophical anthropology.
