Heluiz Washburne and her friend Anauta, who is also from Baffin Island, share stories about the everyday adventures in the lives of the Inuit: building igloos, sledding, and transporting tents, hunting seals, caribou, whales, and bears, experiencing snowstorms and the Northern Lights, as well as dealing with hunger and bountiful catches. The most important aspect of this book is four children who learn, both seriously and playfully, how Inuit (which means 'people' in the local language) naturally help one another.
